The Bible in American Life Conference
The Center for the Study of Religion and American Culture will host the Conference on the Bible in American Life at the Sheraton Indianapolis City Centre, August 6-9, 2014. The Conference is the culmination of the Center’s three-year study of how Americans use the Bible in their daily lives, outside religious services. In addition to sixteen sessions, the conference will include a public plenary talk by noted historian Mark Noll on “The Bible: Then and Now.”
The Conference will offer analyses of the Bible in daily life that complement the three-year study. Talks by historians, sociologists, political scientists, and seminary professors will help to put today’s situation in its broader context.
In downtown Indianapolis. Conference speaker schedule is here: PDF. My paper will be titled, “Readers and their E-Bibles: The Shape and Authority of the Hypertext Canon."
