  • Polite Lies: The Politics and Theology of English Bible Translation, anticipated completion in 2016.

  • A Journey through Languages: How Understanding Translation Processes Can Guide Our Reading of the Old Testament, anticipated completion in 2018.

  • Numbers. Word Biblical Commentary, Volume 5, Second Edition. A major commentary project under contract with Zondervan, anticipated completion in 2021.

Essays in process

  • “Translation, Rhetoric, and the ‘Literal’ Word of God,” a piece of public scholarship on the rhetoric assocatiated with the theology, production, and marketing of major Bible translations.

  • “Beyond Equivalence: Ideology and Power in Biblical Translation,” a scholarly article that will be submitted for journal consideration in May.

  • “Jeremiah Today,” a chapter in an edited volume on Jeremiah for The World of the Bible series (edited by Jim West; Bayarde Press), forthcoming 2015.

  • “American English Bible Translation,” in The Oxford Handbook of the Bible in America, edited by Paul Gutjahr, anticipated completion in 2016.
